Honey Rock (2016)
for concert band | Grade 4

Duration: 6 minutes

Commissioned by the Wheaton College Symphonic Band, Honey Rock is a playful and nostalgic musical journey through the sounds of summer camp. Named after the Wheaton College–affiliated camp nestled in the Northwoods of Wisconsin, this medley captures the joy, silliness, and spirit of communal singing that defines the campfire experience.

The piece weaves together classic animal-themed camp tunes—including The Moose SongThe Littlest Worm, and The Little Green Frog Song. With colorful orchestration and energetic pacing, Honey Rock invites listeners to relive their summer camp memories, where the songs were loud, the laughter was constant, and the woods were full of music.
